Carpentry
This carpentry assistant guide shows the skills and items that are
both needed and recommended for carpenters,
identifying the recommended skills and items by following them with a *.
For example: Lumberjacking*
Skills
Carpentry - Used for making furniture and wooden weapons from logs.
Can be trained by any NPC
carpenter, one can be found in eastwood.
Lumberjacking * - Used for obtaining logs from trees. However this is
optional as logs can be purchased from other
players in the game.
Items
There are many items that can be used on logs for making item,
it doesn't matter which of these you use, and you can make the same
items with which ever you choose.
A saw - Used on logs to make furniture and wooden weapons
Hatchet (or other bladed item) * - Used on trees to obtain logs
Making items
Buy logs from NPC or chop logs from trees.
Double click your saw and target the logs that you wish to make an item
out of (logs must be in your backpack).
This will open a small screen from which you can choose what item you
would like to craft, find the item would
you like to make and double click it. Now you will attempt to make the
item, this can result in two possible outcomes:
1) You successfully make the item and it will appear in you backpack
2) You fail in you attempt to make the item and may lose a few ingots.
The number of logs required to make an item varies between items.
% Skill Requirements
All carpentry items require a certain amount of carpentry skill to
make.
Here is a list of all carpentry items and the level of carpentry skill
required to make each one.
This table also shows the amount of resources required for making items.
Best for gains
The best items to make for getting gains and raising your carpentry
skill are lanterns, followed by black staffs once you
have enough skill to make them. This worked for me, and hopefully will
for everyone else.
