Magery

Magery is one of the most useful and versatile skills, being able to do many different things.

In order to cast magic, you need reagents and mana, as well as the Intellegence (INT) stat. Different spells need different reagents, which can be bought from herbalists in places such as the Citadel of Light. Casting the spell consumes the reagents, and some mana. The maxiumum mana you can have is equivalent to your INT. In order to regenerate mana, use the Meditation skill. The higher meditation you have, the faster it will regenerate.

The damage done by offensive spells depends on your INT, the higher INT you have, the more damage you will do. Also, the Evaluating Intelligence skill will increase the damage your spells do, with 100% eval. int. doing double the damage. The Magic Resistance skill reduces the damage done to you by offensive magic cast on you by other people, equivalent to removing the effect of eval int, with 100% magic resistance removing half of the damage done.

Magical Spells

There are 8 Circles of magic, corresponding to the amount of Magery you need to cast them, and the amount of Inscription and magery to create magic scrolls of them. Circle 1 requires 10% magery, circle 2 20%, and so on up to 80% magery for circle 8.

Circle 1

Spells in circle 1 use 4 mana to cast with magery.

Reactive armour Garlic, Sulphurous ash, spiders silk Reduces damage taken.
Weaken Garlic, Nightshade Offensive spell that causes the creature's hitpoints to drop over time

Circle 2

Spells in circle 2 use 6 mana to cast.

Agility Blood moss, Mandrake root Makes your stamina regenerate faster.
Cunning Mandrake root, Nightshade Makes your mana regenerate faster.
Cure Garlic, Ginseng Cures poison cause by the Poision spell, but not poisoning caused by the Poisioning skill
Harm Nightshade, Spiders silk Offensive spell that does a small amount of damage
Magic Trap Garlic, Spiders silk, Sulphurous ash Traps a container, causing an explosion when someone trys to open it
Magic Untrap Blood moss, Sulphurous ash Removes a trap created by the Magic Trap spell.
Protection Garlic, Ginseng, Sulphurous ash Reduces damage taken.
Strength Mandrake root, Nightshade Makes your hitpoints regenerate faster.

Circle 3

Spells in circle 3 use 9 mana to cast.

Fireball Black Pearl Magical projectile that does a small amount of damage
Magic Lock Blood moss, Garlic, Sulphurous ash Currently pointless, used to lock containers which you have the key to.
Poison Nightshade Poisons the creature this is casted on. Magical posion is a weaker verion of the effect caused by the Poisoning skill
Telekinesis Blood moss, Mandrake root Allows you to use and pick up objects over a distance
Teleport Blood moss, Mandrake root Teleports you to a location you can see
Unlock Blood moss, Sulphurous ash Unlocks locked containers.
Wall of Stone Blood moss, Garlic Creates a magical wall, useful for blocking in monsters and players. Casting this within a guarded area (GZ) will make you criminal

Circle 4

Spells in circle 4 use 11 mana to cast.

Arch Cure Garlic, Ginseng, Mandrake Root Same as Cure, except it cures all players within 3-4 tiles
Arch Protection Garlic, Ginseng, Mandrake root, Sulphurous ash Same effect as Protection, except that it effects all players within 3-4 tiles
Curse Garlic, Nightshade, Sulphurous ash Combines the effect of Weaken, Clumsy and Feeblemind.
Fire Field Black pearl, Spiders' silk, sulphurous ash Creates a wall of fire that damages creatures standing in it
Greater heal Garlic, Ginseng, Mandrake root, Spiders' silk Heals damage
Lightning Black pearl, Mandrake root, Sulphurous ash Offensive spell that does a medium amount of damage
Mana drain Black pearl, Mandrake root, Spiders silk Offensive spell that removes some mana from the creature.
Recall Black pearl, Blood moss, Mandrake root When cast on a recall rune which has previously been marked using Mark, it will teleport you to the location at which the rune was marked.

Invisibility Bloodmoss, Nightshade Makes you become invisible, hidden to other creatures. Moving will reveal you.
Mark Black pearl, Bloodmoss, Mandrake root Used to make a recall rune remember your current location when cast upon it. When recall or gate travel are cast on the rune, they will transport you back to this location.
Mass Curse Garlic, Mandrake root, Sulphurous ash Casts Curse on all creatures near where you cast it.
Paralyse Field Black pearl, Ginseng, Spiders' silk Creates a magical field which paralyses creatures that step inside it.
Reveal Bloodmoss, Sulphurous ash Reveals hidden players hiding using the Hiding skill or Invisibility spell. Does not reveal players using the Stealth skill.

Circle 7

Spells in circle 7 use 40 mana to cast.

Gate Travel Black pearl, Mandrake root, Sulphurous ash Used to transport several people. Cast on a recall rune, it creates a gate through which players can walk.
Mana Vampire Black pearl, Bloodmoss, Mandrake root, Spiders' silk Offensive spell that removes some mana from the creature.
Mass Dispel Black pearl, Garlic, Mandrake root, Sulphurous ash Same effect as Dispel, except over a large area.
